Santa Clara, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Stephen Holt erupted for a game-high 35 points as the Saint Mary's Gaels cruised to a 76-54 win over the Santa Clara Broncos in a West Coast Conference bout at the Leavey Center.

Holt knocked down all but three of his 17 field goals on the afternoon for the Gaels (20-9, 10-6 WCC) as the team snapped a two-game slide. The only other player in double figures for SMC was Brad Waldow who came up a rebound shy of a double-double as he tallied 12 points.

Brandon Clark led the way for the Broncos (12-17, 5-11) with 16 points and five assists off the bench, followed by Evan Roquemore with 13 points for a squad that has dropped two of the last three outings.

Santa Clara led by three points early in the first half, but the team ended up shooting just 8-of-23 from the floor in the period, compared to 59.3 percent for the visitors to moved out to a commanding 43-23 advantage at the break.

In the second half the Gaels again had the hot hand at 59.1 percent and converted all but one of five chances behind the 3-point line, en route to the 22-point road victory.

Saint Mary's ended up with almost as many made 3-pointers (nine) as the Broncos had free throws (11).
