San Diego, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Aqeel Quinn netted 18 points on 6-of-12 shooting to lead the San Diego State Aztecs in a costly 61-33 win over the UC Riverside Highlanders at Viejas Arena Monday.

JJ O'Brien chipped in with 12 points and eight boards for San Diego State (9-3), which has won two in a row. Time was delayed briefly in the first half as Dwayne Polee II fell unconscious to the floor in the middle of play. He was taken off the court on a stretcher and transferred to the hospital.

Jaylen Bland led UC Riverside (6-5) with nine points in the loss, adding in seven rebounds. Taylor Johns pulled down a team-best 11 boards, and netted seven points with seven turnovers. The Highlanders have dropped two of their last three games.

San Diego State took a 26-11 lead into the intermission after the Aztecs connected on 38.5 percent shooting in the half. UC Riverside hit a dismal 20.8 percent from the floor, and missed all seven 3-point tries in the frame.

The Aztecs boosted their accuracy to 40.7 percent from the field in the second half, and kept the Highlanders away by holding the visitors to 33.3 percent shooting in the period.

SDSU held advantages in points off turnovers (14-6), bench scoring (17-9) and in made free throws (11-3).
