Portland, OR (SportsNetwork.com) - Volodymyr Gerun logged 21 points and eight rebounds, as the Portland Pilots made easy work of the SIU Edwardsville Cougars, 75-53, in non-conference action at the Chiles Center.

Gerun shot 10-of-12 from the field for Portland (3-0). Kevin Bailey scored 12 points and Alec Wintering tallied nine points and eight assists.

For SIUE (1-2), Keaton Jackson poured in 13 points, while Keenan Simmons (11 points) and C.J. Carr (10 points, five assists) were both solid off the bench.

Portland carried a comfortable 46-28 lead into intermission after shooting 50 percent from the field in the opening 20 minutes, including 8-of-14 from 3- point range. SIUE, meanwhile, shot just 41.4 percent from the floor in the first half.

The Pilots' advantage never dipped below 17 in the second stanza.

Portland dominated the rebounding battle, 44-28, and outscored SIUE in the paint, 36-28.
