Portland, OR (SportsNetwork.com) - Dylan Garrity scored a game-high 17 points as the Sacramento State Hornets posted a 73-66 win over the Portland Pilots in the first round of the 2015 CollegeInsider.com Tournament at the Chiles Center.

Mikh McKinney tacked on 16 points for the Hornets (21-11), followed by Nick Hornsby with 10 points off the bench.

The Pilots (17-16) were led by Volodymyr Gerun with 15 points, six rebounds and four blocked shots off the bench, while Bryce Pressley responded with 12 points, Kevin Bailey 11 and Alec Wintering 10 points. Jason Todd pitched in with a game-high 13 rebounds in the setback.

The visitors trailed by five late in the first half, but the team connected on an impressive 53.6 percent from the floor in the period, allowing the Hornets to bounce back and eventually take a 36-30 lead at the break.

In the second half Sacramento State again shot the ball well, knocking down 50.0 percent, en route to the seven-point victory.

In a game that featured seven ties and three lead changes, Portland shot only 5-of-21 behind the 3-point line on the night.
