New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - TJ Cline scored 13 points as the Richmond Spiders defeated the Pepperdine Waves, 65-63, as part of the Gotham Classic at Madison Square Garden.

Terry Allen and Trey Davis contributed 11 points for the Spiders (6-4) as they won for the third time in as many outings.

As for the Waves (7-3), Shawn Olden accounted for 13 points, Jeremy Major added 12 and Stacy Davis chipped in with 11 points as the squad saw a brief two-game win streak come to an end.

A ShawnDre' Jones layup with just two seconds left in the first half gave the Spiders a slim 33-32 lead at the break. both teams shot the ball extremely well from the field through the first 20 minutes as Richmond made good on 57.1 percent and the Waves 52.6 percent.

Richmond kept up the pressure in the second half, converting 52.4 percent from the field, but a lackluster 8-of-15 showing at the free-throw line made things a little too close for comfort down the stretch.

The Spiders won despite only shooting 14-of-25 at the charity stripe, compared to Pepperdine which was 17-of-20.
