Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - Sam Jones scored 19 points and made 5- of-6 from 3-point range as the Penn Quakers downed the Marist Red Foxes, 59-42, in a non-conference clash at The Palestra.

Greg Louis came up just short of a double-double for Penn (3-5), netting 13 points with nine rebounds. Darien Nelson-Henry also brought down nine boards in the win.

K.J. Lee scored 15 points to pace Marist (1-8), making 7-of-8 from the free- throw line. The Red Foxes turned the ball over 21 times in the loss.

Penn was able to take a commanding 35-14 lead at the intermission thanks to a 48.3 percent shooting touch from the field, but also a strong defensive effort that held Marist to 16.7 percent shooting in the frame.

The Quakers dropped down to 33.3 percent shooting in the second half, while the Red Foxes shaved four points off the Penn lead after hitting 25 percent from the floor. The Foxes added 11-of-12 from the free-throw line in the second, but it wasn't enough to make a comeback.

Penn held the advantage in scoring in the paint, 22-10, and had a 45-31 edge in rebounding.
