Corvallis, OR (SportsNetwork.com) - Gary Payton II scored 24 points, blocked seven shots and recorded four steals to lead his Oregon State Beavers past the Colorado Buffaloes, 72-58, in a Pac-12 Conference clash at Gill Coliseum.

Payton also turned the ball over six times, but had five rebounds for Oregon State (17-10, 8-7 Pac-12). Malcolm Duvivier chipped in with 17 points and five assists, and Daniel Gomis added 10 points with five boards and four blocks. The Beavers ended a three-game losing streak with the victory.

Xavier Johnson paced Colorado (12-14, 5-9) with 12 points and nine rebounds, while Tre'Shaun Fletcher added 11 points off the bench. Wesley Gordon contributed 10 points and eight rebounds in the defeat, which was the second in a row for Colorado and the fifth in the team's last six games.

Oregon State charged out a massive 34-12 lead at halftime thanks to 52 percent shooting from the floor in the opening frame, which included a 6-of-15 mark from 3-point distance. Colorado connected on a dismal 14.3 percent shooting in the period, with an 0-of-5 mark from beyond the arc.

The Beavers dropped slightly in the second half down to 45.5 percent shooting, but managed to make 16-of-22 from the free-throw line to stay ahead. The Buffaloes improved to 48.4 percent shooting in the frame, making 7-of-17 from distance. Colorado couldn't come up with enough of a comeback effort to pull ahead down the stretch, however.

Oregon State held a 28-17 advantage in points off turnovers, and a 24-14 margin in points in the paint in the win. Colorado owned a 38-27 lead in rebounding in the contest.
