Norfolk, VA (SportsNetwork.com) - Trey Freeman scored 18 points to lead the Old Dominion Monarchs to a 64-38 decision over the Southern Miss Golden Eagles in a Conference USA matchup at the Constant Convocation Center.

Aaron Bacote added 10 points and five rebounds for ODU (19-6, 8-5 A-10), which snapped a two-game losing streak with the win. The Monarchs have won 18 games in a row in their own building.

Chip Armelin led the Golden Eagles (7-18, 2-12) with 15 points. Matt Bingaya provided 11 points and nine boards in the loss.

The Monarchs took a 24-19 lead into the intermission after they outrebounded the visitors, 19-12, in the first period. USM was limited to a 3-of-13 clip from 3-point range in the opening stanza.

ODU was unstoppable on the offensive end after the break, as it assisted 14 of its 18 makes from the floor and connected on 60 percent of its overall attempts. The Golden Eagles made good on only 6-of-23 shots from the field and registered just one assist in the second half.

The Monarchs converted USM's 17 turnovers into 23 points, while the Golden Eagles netted only eight points on ODU's 15 miscues.
