Rochester, MI (SportsNetwork.com) - RJ Hunter poured in 29 points as the Georgia State Panthers held on for an 83-78 victory over the Oakland Golden Grizzlies as part of the CBE Hall of Fame Classic at Athletics Center O'rena.

Markus Crider had 17 points, Kevin Ware chipped in 15 and Ryan Harrow produced a double-double (14 points, 11 assists) for Georgia State (4-2).

Max Hooper netted 21 points for Oakland (1-5). Kahlil Felder tallied 18 points and Dante Williams had 14, while Corey Petros chimed in with a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Georgia State came out firing and hit 68 percent of its shots in the first period, including 6-of-8 from beyond the arc. Oakland was held to a 39.4 percent shooting effort in the period, although it did make 7-of-20 from 3- point range. The Panthers led, 47-38, at the break.

Although the Golden Grizzlies improved to 50 percent shooting in the second half, they could not overcome Georgia State, which connected on 57.1 percent from the floor in the final 20 minutes.

Oakland lost despite a 33-25 edge on the glass.
