Evanston, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - D'Angelo Russell scored a career-high 33 points, pulled down seven rebounds and dished out six assists as the Ohio State Buckeyes defeated the Northwestern Wildcats, 69-67, in a Big Ten Conference battle at Welsh-Ryan Arena.

Sam Thompson added 11 points for the Buckeyes (15-5, 4-3 Big Ten) and Anthony Lee scored eight points. Ohio State has won two out of its last three games.

As for the Wildcats (10-9, 1-5), Alex Olah scored 16 points and grabbed six rebounds. Tre Demps added 14 points, and Bryant McIntosh contributed 12 points in the defeat.

The Wildcats shot 50 percent from the field and jumped out to a 14-4 lead early in the first half. But the Buckeyes shot 51.6 percent from the field and took a 38-34 lead into the break.

In the second half, Northwestern shot just 38.5 percent from the floor, while Ohio State converted on 54.5 percent of its attempts and 50 percent from beyond the arc to seal the win.

Ohio State outscored Northwestern from 3-point range, 27-21, and forced 10 Wildcats turnovers in the win.
