Recap: Northern Ariz vs. Northern Colorado
Flagstaff, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - Tate Unruh converted 6-of-8 shots behind the 3-point line, finishing with a game-high 24 points, as the Northern Colorado Bears captured a 74-59 win against the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks in a Big Sky Conference showdown at the Walkup Skydome.
Also scoring in double figures for the Bears (16-8, 10-5 Big Sky), as they posted a third straight win, were Derrick Barden and Tim Huskisson with 21 and 10 points, respectively.
The Lumberjacks (11-15, 8-7), losers of two in a row, were led by Kris Yanku with 22 points on 8-of-14 shooting from the floor, but he was the only player in double figures for the hosts.
Despite getting to the free-throw line only once in the first half, UNC was able to move out to a 38-28 advantage at the break, thanks to 57.1 percent shooting from the floor, including 5-of-11 behind the 3-point line in the period.
In the second half the Bears jumped to a sizzling 68.4 percent from the floor and made all but one of seven chances beyond the arc, en route to the 15-point road win.
Northern Colorado, which led by as many as 20 in the meeting, connected on an impressive 11-of-18 on the perimeter.
