Boston, MA (SportsNetwork.com) - Scott Eatherton led all scorers with 18 points, as the Northeastern Huskies fended off the Fairfield Stags, 57-48, in non-conference action at Matthews Arena.

Eatherton shot 8-of-12 from the field and added a team-best seven rebounds for Northeastern (5-1). Zach Stahl and T.J. Williams netted 14 and 10 points, respectively.

For Fairfield (2-4), Marcus Gilbert and K.J. Rose scored nine points apiece, while Amadou Sidibe hauled in 11 rebounds.

Northeastern ran out to a commanding 33-16 lead at intermission after outshooting Fairfield from the floor in the opening 20 minutes, 46.2 percent to 24 percent.

The Stags improved to 43.8 percent from the field in the second stanza but could get no closer than seven points of the lead.

Northeastern outscored Fairfield at the free-throw line, 12-3.
