Recap: North Dakota vs. Montana
Grand Forks, ND (SportsNetwork.com) - Jaron Nash came off the bench to score a game-high 19 points, as North Dakota held off the Montana Grizzlies, 74-69, in a Big Sky Conference bout at the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center.
Nash shot 9-of-13 from the field for North Dakota (11-13, 8-6 Big Sky), which has won two of three. Troy Huff pitched in 18 points, six rebounds and four steals for the home team
For Montana (12-11, 7-7), losers of three straight, Kareem Jamar scored 18 points, Mario Dunn tallied 17 points and seven rebounds and Jordan Gregory and Michael Weisner put up 16 and 12 points, respectively.
North Dakota outshot Montana from the field in the first half, 51.6 percent to 45.8 percent, as it carried a 38-33 lead into intermission.
The hosts extended their advantage to as many as 14 with under five minutes to play, but while the Grizzlies managed to make their deficit just four in the final minute, the clock ran out on their comeback attempt.
Montana committed a game-high 17 turnovers, which North Dakota turned into 21 points.
