New Mexico Lobos VS. Boise St. Broncos

Recap: New Mexico vs. Boise State

Albuquerque, NM (SportsNetwork.com) - James Webb III was a perfect 7-of-7 from 3-point range, finishing with 23 points, as the Boise State Broncos registered their first-ever win at New Mexico, 69-59, in Mountain West Conference action at WisePies Arena.

Webb III, who also cleared seven rebounds, made five 3-pointers in the first half alone for the Broncos (12-6, 2-3 MWC) as they secured their second win in as many tries. Derrick Marks led all scorers with 31 points as he converted 10-of-16 from the floor and all but one of his 11 free-throw tries in the meeting.

The Lobos (12-6, 4-2) were paced by Deshawn Delaney with 13 points and Jordan Goodman with 10 off the bench as the squad had a two-game win streak come to an end. Hugh Greenwood again struggled for the squad as he made only 3-of-14 shots from the floor, missing all four tries on the perimeter, as he finished with six points.

Of the 10 field goals tallied by BSU in the first half, seven came from beyond the arc, but with 45.2 percent accuracy from the field in the period it was UNM with the 31-30 advantage at the break. Aside from a 2-2 tie in the early going, the Lobos led for the entire first half.

Marks led off the second half for the Broncos with a jumper, putting the visitors in front for the first time in the game. The teams found themselves knotted at 55-55 with under four minutes remaining in regulation before a 3- pointer by Nick Duncan put Boise State on top to stay, eventually closing the contest on a 6-0 run.

In a game that featured six ties and five lead changes the Lobos, who outscored BSU in the paint by a 34-14 margin, hurt themselves with just 2- of-14 shooting behind the 3-point line.
