Lincoln, NE (SportsNetwork.com) - Walter Pitchford shot 6-of-10 from 3-point range on his way to a game-high 19 points, as the Nebraska Cornhuskers defeated the Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks, 75-64, in non-conference action at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

Terran Petteway added 18 points and eight assists for Nebraska (4-1), which has won two straight.

For UTM (3-2), Twymond Howard netted 18 points on 8-of-12 from the floor. Deville Smith filled the stat sheet with 15 points, six assists, six rebounds and three steals, and Myles Taylor and Alex Anderson put up 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Nebraska shot an impressive 51.7 percent from the field in the first half and carried a comfortable 40-27 lead into intermission. UTM shot just 40.9 percent in the opening 20 minutes but stayed relevant by making 5-of-10 from beyond the arc.

The Cornhuskers held a 19-point lead early in the second half before the Skyhawks ripped off a 17-2 run to make it just a four-point game with under 10 minutes to play, but they would get no closer. Nebraska scored six straight points from there to give it plenty of breathing room.
