N.C. State Wolfpack VS. South Florida Bulls

Recap: NC State vs. South Florida

Raleigh, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - Trevor Lacey tallied a game-high 21 points as the NC State Wolfpack held off the South Florida Bulls, 68-65, in a non- conference clash at PNC Arena.

Lacey sank 8-of-9 at the free-throw line for the Wolfpack (4-0), who remained undefeated. Anthony Barber netted 10 points and Lennard Freeman grabbed 10 rebounds.

Corey Allen Jr. knocked down 14 points on 6-of-10 from the field, leading the charge for the Bulls (3-1), who lost their first game of the season. Nehemias Morillo and Chris Perry chipped in with 11 and 10 points, respectively.

The Wolfpack struggled to get going from the field in the first half, shooting just 32.3 percent, but they did sink 11-of-15 at the free-throw line. The visitors were slightly better, at a 40.7 percent mark from the floor, but they trailed 33-29 at the half.

In the second half the Bulls put the pressure on the home team, shooting 53.6 percent from the field. The Wolfpack improved to shoot 42.9 percent and also got to the line for 9-of-15.

With 2:57 left, NC State led by 11 but then the Bulls went on an 11-3 run to finish out the game, making things interesting but never getting it tied up. Allen Jr.'s last-second, long-distance shot clanged off the rim, and the Bulls fell.

The Wolfpack shot only 4-of-17 beyond the arc, but outscored the visitors by a 20-9 margin at the charity stripe.
