Raleigh, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - Lamar Patterson had 22 points and eight rebounds to help lift the Pittsburgh Panthers to a 74-62 win over the NC State Wolfpack in the Atlantic Coast Conference opener for both teams at PNC Arena.

Talib Zanna chipped in with 15 points and Michael Young scored a career-high 13 for the Panthers (13-1, 1-0 ACC) in their first true road game and first- ever league matchup as an ACC member.

T.J. Warren scored 23 points and Ralston Turner added 11 for the Wolfpack (10-4, 0-1).

Pitt dug itself an early 17-2 hole before rallying to cut the deficit to eight at the break.

The Panthers opened the second stanza with a 24-8 spurt, and they went on to shoot a healthy 63 percent from the floor over the final 20 minutes as they routinely got open looks in the paint.

NCST had won nine of 10 meetings in the all-time series entering today's contest, but the Wolfpack shot just 39.3 percent from the floor and were unable to overcome 16 turnovers.
