N.C. State Wolfpack VS. Hofstra Pride

Recap: NC State vs. Hofstra

Raleigh, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - Ralston Turner scored a game-high 24 points as the NC State Wolfpack defeated the Hofstra Pride, 76-64, in non-conference action at PNC Arena.

Ralston made good on 5-of-9 shots behind the 3-point line for the Wolfpack (2-0), although the rest of the team combined to make just 1-of-11 on the perimeter. Trevor Lacey recorded a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds, Anthony Barber produced 15 points, seven boards and six assists, while Lennard Freeman came up a point shy of a double-double as he cleared a game-high 13 boards.

Juan'Ya Green converted only 6-of-18 from the field, but still finished with a team-best 19 points for the Pride (1-1), adding eight rebounds and a team- high four assists. Ameen Tanksley logged a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds, the latter total second only to Rokas Gustys who pulled down 12 rebounds on the night. Dion Nesmith pitched in with 13 points off the bench.

The Pride shot only 32.3 percent from the field in the first half, including a disappointing 3-of-12 beyond the arc, en route to a 45-29 deficit at the break.

In the second half both teams had trouble finding the basket as the visitors knocked down just 29.7 percent and NC State 26.9 percent, but the hosts still maintained their distance by converting 15-of-23 at the free-throw line in the period.

NC State, which scored the first points and never looked back, survived despite just 37.3 percent accuracy from the floor on the night.
