West Long Branch, NJ (SportsNetwork.com) - Justin Robinson scored 15 points and hit 2-of-5 from 3-point range as the Monmouth Hawks outlasted the Central Connecticut State Blue Devils, 65-50, in a non-conference clash as part of the CBE Hall of Fame Classic at the Multipurpose Activity Center.

Deon Jones chipped in with 12 points and six rebounds, while Andrew Nicholas came off the bench to score 12 of his own for Monmouth (2-1).

Khalen Cumberlander scored 15 points with five rebounds to pace CCSU (0-4), while Faronte Drakeford contributed 12 points with four assists. Matt Mobley added 11 points in the loss.

Monmouth took a 31-23 lead into halftime after shooting 43.3 percent from the floor in the first half. CCSU made just 36 percent of its shot tries in the opening period.

The Hawks kept up the scoring in the second half with 44.4 percent shooting, which included a 6-of-10 mark from 3-point range. The Blue Devils hit on 42.9 percent of their shots, but made just 1-of-5 from distance.

Monmouth forced 18 CCSU turnovers in the contest, and outscored the Blue Devils from 3-point range, 27-12.
