Albany, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Justin Robinson netted 16 points to lead four Hawks in double-figures as the No. 4 seed Monmouth defeated the fifth-seeded Canisius Golden Griffins, 60-54, in the quarterfinal round of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Tournament at the Times Union Center.

Andrew Nicholas and Deon Jones scored 11 points apiece for Monmouth (18-14), which will advance to take on the No. 1 seed Iona in the semifinals. Collin Stewart added 10 points on 4-of-7 shooting from the floor.

Jeremiah Williams led the Golden Griffins (16-14) with 18 points on 6-of-14 efficiency from the field. Kassius Robertson chimed in with 10 points, while Josiah Heath handed out five assists.

The contest went into halftime tied at 27. Canisius connected on 4-of-10 attempts from beyond the arc, but was outrebounded, 17-14, in the first half. Monmouth went 0-of-2 at the free-throw line before the break.

After struggling at the charity stripe before the intermission, the Hawks outscored Canisius, 12-5, at the free-throw line in the second half. The Golden Griffins were limited to a 2-of-10 clip from 3-point range after halftime.

Monmouth's bench outscored the Golden Griffins' reserves, 25-13.
