Starkville, MS (SportsNetwork.com) - Sean Gardner netted 22 points and pulled down five rebounds as the Arkansas State Red Wolves coasted past the Mississippi State Bulldogs, 69-55, in a non-conference tilt at Humphrey Coliseum.

Cameron Golden chipped in with 15 points and four assists, while Nouhoum Bocoum contributed 13 with eight rebounds for Arkansas State (3-4), which ended a two-game losing skid.

Roquez Johnson scored 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting, and grabbed seven rebounds to pace Mississippi State (5-4). The Bulldogs have lost four consecutive games.

Arkansas State led at halftime, 35-27, after the Red Wolves connected on 50 percent of their shots in the first half. Mississippi State made 32.4 percent of its tries from the floor.

The Red Wolves stepped in up in the second period to 55.6 percent shooting, adding in a 10-of-16 mark from the free-throw line to cruise to the victory. The Bulldogs made 32.3 percent from the floor in the frame.

Arkansas State outscored the home squad 24-9 from 3-point range in the win. Mississippi State owned a 40-4 advantage in bench scoring in the contest.
