Ann Arbor, MI (SportsNetwork.com) - Caris LeVert scored 18 points, dished out seven assists and grabbed six rebounds as the Michigan Wolverines held off the Northwestern Wildcats, 56-54, in a Big Ten Conference tilt at the Crisler Center.

Derrick Walton Jr. netted 14 points and pulled down five rebounds for Michigan (11-7, 4-2 Big Ten), which has won three of its last four decisions.

Alex Olah led all scorers in the contest as he tallied 22 points with seven rebounds for Northwestern (10-8, 1-4). JerShon Cobb added in 13 points, and Bryant McIntosh dished out eight assists in the loss. The Wildcats have dropped four games in a row.

Northwestern hit on 44.8 percent of its field goal tries in the first half to take a slim 32-31 lead into the intermission. Michigan connected on only 39.3 percent of its attempts from the floor, and made 4-of-10 from 3-point range.

Both sides made only nine field goals in the second half, but the Wolverines shot 5-of-13 from distance while the Wildcats made only 2-of-9 from beyond the arc, which allowed Michigan to pull ahead for the narrow victory.

The Wolverines held a 19-4 advantage in points off turnovers, and outscored Northwestern from 3-point range, 27-15, in the win.
