Melo Trimble contributed 16 points with seven assists and five rebounds for the Terrapins (8-1), who bounced back with a solid effort after suffering their first loss of the season on Wednesday at former conference rival Virginia.

Jared Nickens chipped in 12 points, while Damonte Dodd finished with nine and 10 rebounds in the victory. Maryland shot 47.8 percent and made an efficient 29-of-35 free throws.

Keon Moore scored 20 points and Keon Johnson added 18 for Winthrop (3-4), which has lost two straight and four of its last five.
