Milwaukee, WI (SportsNetwork.com) - Jajuan Johnson scored a game-high 20 points, leading four players in double figures, as the Marquette Golden Eagles captured a 79-63 win over the Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks in non-conference action at the BMU Harris Bradley Center.

Juan Anderson added 16 points, seven rebounds and four steals for Marquette (1-0), followed by Matt Carlino with 11 points and seven boards and reserve Deonte Burton with 10 points in 12 minutes of action.

The Skyhawks (0-1) were led by Deville Smith with 12 points, followed by Twymond and Alex Anderson with 11 points apiece. Before fouling out, Myles Taylor cleared a game-high 11 rebounds in the setback.

Marquette shot just 4-of-12 behind the 3-point line in the first half, but still managed to pull out to a 38-30 advantage as UT-Martin made a total of only 11 field goals in the period.

In the second half the Skyhawks connected on 55.0 percent from the floor, but again made a total of only 11 field goals, allowing the Golden Eagles to pull away for the comfortable victory.

The visitors shot only 4-of-13 on the perimeter and suffered 19 tuirnovers on the night.
