Milwaukee, WI (SportsNetwork.com) - Devin Patterson had a game-high 26 points and CJ Carter tacked on 25 as the Nebraska Omaha Mavericks upset the Marquette Golden Eagles, 97-89, in a non-conference tilt at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.

Patterson handed out eight assists as well for Omaha (2-1). Tre'Shawn Thurman contributed 12 points, Mike Rostampour had a double-double (11 points, 11 rebounds) and Rylan Murry chipped in 10 points off the bench.

Juan Anderson finished with 23 points for Marquette (1-2). Derrick Wilson tallied 17 points, Duane Wilson registered 15 and Matt Carlino and Deonte Burton each had 12.

Omaha had a slim 44-41 lead at halftime despite shooting 53.1 percent from the floor, while holding Marquette to 40.6 percent. The Golden Eagles stayed close by hitting 10-of-13 shots from the foul line.

The Mavericks held off the Golden Eagles, who shot 51.3 percent in the final period, by sinking 62.5 percent of their own shots in the final 20 minutes.

Omaha enjoyed a 40-24 advantage in rebounds in the winning effort.
