Poughkeepsie, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Justin Robinson scored 12 points, as the Monmouth Hawks defeated the Marist Red Foxes, 57-50, in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference battle at McCann Arena.

Brice Kofane added 11 points and grabbed seven rebounds for the Hawks (3-4, 1-0 MAAC). Chris Brady chipped in with eight points in the win.

As for the Red Foxes (1-6, 0-1), Phillip Lawrence scored 14 points. Nick Colletta contributed eight points and five rebounds.

With one second left in the first half, Colletta converted on a three-point play to cut the Hawks' lead to 26-25 at the break. Monmouth shot 50 percent from the field in the opening half, compared to 40.9 percent for Marist.

In the second half, Monmouth connected on 12-of-23 from the floor (.522) and recorded seven steals to secure the win.

Monmouth outscored Marist in the paint, 40-16.
