Ruston, LA (SportsNetwork.com) - Paced by a game-high 20 points from Raheem Appleby, the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs downed the Samford Bulldogs, 77-64, in a non-conference clash at the Thomas Assembly Center.

Appleby shot 4-of-9 from 3-point range for Louisiana Tech (5-1), winners of four straight. Alex Hamilton scored 19 points and swiped five steals, Xavian Stapleton netted 13 points off the bench and Michale Kyser flirted with a triple-double by posting nine points, eight rebounds and eight blocks.

For Samford (2-5), Darius Jones-Gibson led the way with 16 points. Christen Cunningham tallied 11 points and Alex Peters logged 10 points and eight rebounds.

Louisiana Tech shot just 37.9 percent from the field in the first half, but Samford was even worse at 33.3 percent. Louisiana Tech carried a 34-27 lead into intermission.

Louisiana Tech's field goal shooting improved to 58.3 percent in the second half as it pulled away for the 13-point win.

Louisiana Tech overcame a game-high 21 turnovers by outscoring Samford at the free-throw line, 21-9.
