Brooklyn, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Damian Jones scored 16 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead the Vanderbilt Commodores to a 68-55 victory over the La Salle Explorers in the Barclays Center Classic.

Riley LaChance had 14 points and Luke Kornet and James Siakam had 10 apiece for Vanderbilt (5-1).

Jerrell Wright paced La Salle (4-2) with a game-high 19 points. Steve Zack contributed 11 points.

Vanderbilt had a 30-20 lead at halftime after shooting 50 percent from the floor in the first half, while holding La Salle to 30.8 percent.

The Explorers improved to 56 percent shooting in the second half, but it was not enough to catch the Commodores, who turned in a 58.3 percent effort.

Vanderbilt outscored La Salle, 40-30, in the paint.
