Kansas St. Wildcats VS. Georgia Bulldogs

Recap: Kansas State vs. Georgia

Manhattan, KS (SportsNetwork.com) - Charles Mann scored 17 points as the Georgia Bulldogs held on to defeat the Kansas State Wildcats, 50-46, in a non-league tilt at Bramlage Coliseum.

Also scoring in double figures for the Bulldogs (8-3), as they extended their win streak to five in a row, was Marcus Thornton who accounted for 11 points and also pulled down seven rebounds.

The Wildcats (7-6), losers of two straight, were led by reserve Thomas Gipson who tallied 19 points and nine rebounds, the only player in double figures for the host. The starting five combined to shoot only 2-of-18 from the floor on the afternoon.

A close game for much of the first half, Kansas State shot a mere 5-of-23 from the floor and missed all seven opportunities behind the 3-point line, en route to a 20-12 deficit at the break. The Bulldogs failed to capitalize fully on KSU's weak opening as they too struggled from the field (6-of-21).

Georgia was able to push the lead to 15 points eight minutes into the second half, but then allowed the Wildcats to battle all the way back and actually take a 46-43 lead on a pair of free throws by Gipson. However, Kansas State went cold after that as the visitors closed on a 7-0 run.

The Wildcats finished the meeting just 1-of-14 behind the 3-point line and turned the ball over 19 times as they lost back-to-back non-conference home games for the first time since 1987.
