Iowa City, IA (SportsNetwork.com) - Aaron White scored 23 points and pulled down nine rebounds as the Iowa Hawkeyes registered a 70-59 win over the Nebraska Cornhuskers in Big Ten Conference play at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

White shot 5-of-10 from the floor and 12-of-15 at the free-throw line for the Hawkeyes (11-4, 2-0 Big Ten) as they won for the third time in as many outings. Gabriel Olaseni contributed another 18 points off the bench as he converted 12-of-13 at the charity stripe, followed by Jarrod Uthoff with 15 points and seven boards.

The Huskers (8-6, 0-2), losers of two straight to open the conference schedule, were led by Shavon Shields who produced a game-high 25 points, while Terran Petteway was limited to just 11 points before fouling out.

Nebraska, which led by three points early on in the first half, shot an impressive 57.1 percent from the field in the period, but still the squad trailed 35-28 at the break. The big difference in the first half had Iowa outscoring the visitors at the free-throw line by a 15-2 margin.

In the second half both teams saw their field goal accuracy drop off, Nebraska hitting on only 37.0 percent and the Hawkeyes 34.8 percent. The Cornhuskers hurt themselves by coming up empty on six shots behind the 3-point line and again were outscored at the charity stripe, 16-11.

In a game that featured five ties and six lead changes, the Hawkeyes made only 5-of-20 shots beyond the arc, but made up for it with a 31-13 advantage at the free-throw line.
