Terre Haute, IN (SportsNetwork.com) - Khristian Smith scored 23 points to lead the Indiana State Sycamores to a 78-66 win over the Brown Bears in a Las Vegas Invitational matchup at the Hulman Center.

Devonte Brown contributed 21 points and pulled down six rebounds for the Sycamores (2-1). Brenton Scott added 11 points and six boards in the win.

Leland King scored 25 points and pulled down 12 rebounds for the Bears (1-3). Rafael Maia added 10 points and six rebounds, while Steven Spieth chipped in with seven points and seven assists.

The Sycamores took a comfortable 36-25 lead into halftime. Indiana State held Brown to just 31.3 percent from the floor in the first half and watched the visitors miss one of their two free-throw tries.

Indiana State shot 58.3 percent from the field in the second half. Both teams connected on 3-of-7 shots from beyond the arc in the frame.

The Sycamores held Brown to just 39 percent from the floor and forced the Bears into 20 turnovers.
