Las Vegas, NV (SportsNetwork.com) - Malcolm Hill and Rayvonte Rice poured in 17 points apiece, as the Illinois Fighting Illini downed the Baylor Bears, 62-54, to win the Las Vegas Invitational championship at Orleans Arena.

Hill and Rice combined to shoot 12-of-24 from the field as Illinois (6-0) remained unbeaten on the season. Rice was named the tournament MVP, averaging 19.0 ppg and 7.0 rpg.

For Baylor (5-1), Rico Gathers tallied a double-double with 11 points and 15 rebounds, while Taurean Prince also scored 11 and collected eight boards.

Neither team shot greater than 33 percent from the field in the first half. Baylor took a 25-21 lead into intermission by outscoring Illinois from 3-point range, 9-3.

The Illini opened the second half on an 8-0 run to take a lead they would never surrender. They put the game away by shooting 5-of-6 at the foul line in the final 28 seconds.

Baylor was hindered by a game-high 15 turnovers. Illinois, meanwhile, coughed the ball up just five times.
