Kent, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - Anthony Beane scored a game-high 27 points and pulled down nine rebounds as the Southern Illinois Salukis posted a 67-60 win over the Illinois-Chicago Flames as part of the Men Against Breast Cancer Classic at the MAC Center.

Also scoring in double figures for the Salukis (2-3) were Deion Lavender and Sean O'Brien with 12 points apiece, while Jordan Caroline cleared a game-high 11 boards before fouling out.

The Flames (1-4) were paced by Jay Harris and his 19 points, followed by D'juan Miller with 16, the latter shooting only 6-of-15 from the floor.

SIU scored the first points of the day and never looked back, shooting not only 56.5 percent from the field in the first half but also 4-of-7 beyond the arc, en route to a 35-21 advantage at the break.

In the second half the Salukis dipped to 44.4 percent from the floor, but still had enough of a cushion to capture the seven-point victory.

Southern Illinois owned a 35-28 edge on the glass, helping the team to overcome 19 turnovers.
