Hempstead, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Jordan Price had 28 points and seven assists to lead La Salle to an 83-74 win over Hofstra at the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex.

Price followed up a career-best 31-point effort in Saturday's 67-53 victory at Towson by shooting 10-of-17 from the field, including 5-of-9 from 3-point range.

La Salle (7-5) hit on 9-of-18 attempts from beyond the arc as a team, with Cleon Roberts going 4-of-6 while chipping in 18 points. Jerrell Wright added 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Explorers.

Ameen Tanksley finished with 23 points for Hofstra (7-4), while Juan'ya Green tallied 15 points and 11 assists in the loss.

La Salle built a 38-27 lead with 5 1/2 minutes left in the first half following a 7-0 run, and owned a 44-36 advantage at the break behind Price's 17 points.

Hofstra closed within 50-49 with 16:40 left after putting together a 9-0 spurt in which Tanksley drained a pair of treys. However, Wright scored six straight points to ignite a 13-3 stretch that put the Explorers up 63-52 with under 11 minutes left.

La Salle shot 64 percent for the second half to stay in front.
