Orlando, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Marcus Georges-Hunt netted a team-high 16 points and recorded five steals as the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets narrowly edged out the Rhode Island Rams, 64-61, in the championship bout of the Orlando Classic at HP Fieldhouse.

Georges-Hunt connected on 6-of-13 shooting in the game for Georgia Tech (5-1), while Demarco Cox added 11 points and six rebounds in the win.

E.C. Matthews scored a game-high 17 points to pace Rhode Island (4-2), while Hassan Martin and Jared Terrell each chipped in with 10 points. Martin pulled down a team-best eight boards in the defeat.

Georgia Tech connected on 47.8 percent of its first-half field goal tries to take a 29-18 lead into the midway break. Rhode Island hit on just 33.3 percent of its attempts in the frame, which included a 1-of-9 mark from 3-point distance.

The Rams increased their accuracy in the second half to 53.8 percent shooting, and hit 13-of-17 from the free-throw line. The team made a comeback after the Yellow Jackets hit 42.1 percent of its shot tries in the period, but Georgia Tech was able to fend off the Rams as the clock wound down.

Georgia Tech outscored Rhode Island from the charity stripe, 21-14, and held a 23-17 advantage in bench scoring. The Rams owned a 34-26 edge in points in the paint.
