Greenville, SC (SportsNetwork.com) - Stephen Croone notched a game-high 33 points as the Furman Paladins topped the Samford Bulldogs, 74-64, in Southern Conference play at Timmons Arena.

Daniel Fowler logged a double-double on 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Paladins (2-4, 1-0 SoCon), who put an end to their three-game losing skid. Geoff Beans netted 21 points, while Kris Acox grabbed 10 rebounds.

Darius Jones-Gibson scored 15 points to lead the Bulldogs (3-7, 0-2), who have lost four of their last five. Brandon Roberts and Jamal Shabazz added 11 and 10 points, respectively.

The Bulldogs struggled early on, shooting just 33.3 percent from the field in the opening half. The Paladins were just a little more consistent at 39.1 percent, and they led 28-25 at halftime.

The home team picked up the pace in the second half, where they shot 47.6 percent and held the opposition to a 37.5 percent mark. The Paladins led by as many as 14 early in the half.

The Paladins outrebounded the visitors, 45-35.
