Fresno, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Led by 23 points from Paul Watson, the Fresno State Bulldogs took down the UC Irvine Anteaters, 72-63, in a non-conference matchup at the Save Mart Center.

For the Bulldogs (2-6), Karachi Edo posted a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds while Marvelle Harris added 14 points and eight boards.

Will Davis II registered his own double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds to pace the Anteaters (3-3), while Jaron Martin also scored 12 and Luke Nelson chipped in with 10 points.

The Bulldogs took a 36-27 lead into intermission, using a 12-2 run to close out the half. They shot 41.9 percent from the field, including 2-of-6 from 3- pointy range in the period. The Anteaters struggled from the floor in the first, shooting just 36.4 percent, including 2-of-10 from beyond the arc.

After the break, the Bulldogs improved to 44 percent shooting from the field, including 1-of-5 from beyond the arc. The Anteaters continued to have trouble finding the bottom of the net, as they made just 34.4 percent of their shots from the field, though they were an effective 4-of-10 from 3-point distance. Fresno State led comfortably for the entire half, though UC Irvine did get to within six in the final minute, as the Bulldogs secured the home victory.

The Bulldogs outscored the Anteaters, 21-11, at the free-throw line. The Anteaters did have the edge on the boards, outrebounding the Bulldogs 44-41 in the game.
