Recap: Fordham vs. Siena

Bronx, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Eric Paschall scored 19 points while Mandell Thomas and Antwoine Anderson netted 18 apiece, as the Fordham Rams held off the Siena Saints, 69-67, in non-conference action at Rose Hill Gymnasium.

Ryan Rhoomes hauled in 17 rebounds and blocked five shots for Fordham (2-4), which snapped a four-game losing streak.

For Siena (2-3), which had won its previous two, Marquis Wright poured in a career-high 31 points on 12-of-15 from the field, including 3-of-4 from 3- point range.

Fordham struggled from the field in the first half by shooting just 35.7 percent, but Siena was even worse at 28.1 percent. The Rams took a 30-23 lead at the break.

Fordham's lead ballooned to as many as 13 in the second stanza before Siena came roaring back to make it just a one-point game, 68-67. with 12 seconds left following a pair of Wright free throws. After Anderson had a 1-of-2 trip to the line for Fordham to make it a two-point game, the Saints had one final possession but Patrick Cole missed a layup in the waning seconds.

The Rams outscored the Saints at the foul line, 20-11.
