Tallahassee, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Behind 17 points from Trevor Lacey, the NC State Wolfpack defeated the Florida State Seminoles, 72-63, in an Atlantic Coast Conference clash at Donald L. Tucker Center.

For the Wolfpack (13-6, 4-2 ACC), Ralston Turner added 15 points and Kyle Washington and Lennard Freeman had six rebounds apiece.

Montay Brandon led the Seminoles (9-9, 1-4) with a game-high 20 points to go along with nine rebounds, while Xavier Rathan-Mayes finished with 15 points and five assists and Devon Bookert chipped in with 11 points.

The Wolfpack jumped out to an early 19-5 lead and took a 42-30 lead into halftime. They connected on 56.3 percent from the field, including a healthy 4-of-8 from beyond the arc. The Seminoles shot just 39.1 percent from the field, but that did include an identical 4-of-8 mark from 3-point range.

NC State shot just 31 percent from the field in the second half, including just 2-of-10 from beyond the arc. Florida State was little better, hitting on just 35.7 percent of its field goal tries in the half, which included missing all seven of its attempts from 3-point distance. The Seminoles were able to battle back and finally knot the score at 60-60 with four minutes to play, but they were never able to take the lead, as the Wolfpack held them off down the stretch to escape with the win.

The Wolfpack beat the Seminoles on the glass, finishing with a 38-34 rebounding edge. The Seminoles did have the advantage at the charity stripe, as they outscored the Wolfpack, 21-12, from the free-throw line.
