Tallahassee, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Devon Bookert's last-second shot fell short, but Jake Kurtz tipped the ball into his own net, which allowed the Florida State Seminoles to take a 65-63 win over the Florida Gators at the Donald L. Tucker Center.

Montay Brandon led the way for Florida State (8-5) with 17 points. Xavier Rathan-Mayes chipped in with 13 points, Bookert scored 12 and Boris Bojanovsky contributed 10. The win was the fourth in a row for the Seminoles.

Kasey Hill netted 17 points to pace Florida (7-5), which ended a four-game win streak with the last-second loss. Dorian Finney-Smith registered 14 points with seven rebounds, and Michael Frazier collected 11 in the defeat.

Florida State held a slim 26-24 lead at the midway break after connecting on 36 percent of its shots in the first half, including 1-of-7 from 3-point range. Florida made 32.3 percent from the floor in the frame, including 1- of-10 from distance.

The Seminoles hit on 42.9 percent shooting in the second half, while the Gators improved to 53.3 percent from the field. Florida State hit 10-of-17 from the free-throw line to stay ahead, and received the ultimate form of luck on Florida's own basket which won the home squad the game.

FSU outscored its in-state rivals from the free-throw line, 17-7, and held a slight 14-12 advantage in bench scoring over the Gators.
