Boca Raton, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Marquan Botley scored 23 points as the Florida Atlantic Owls defeated the Marshall Thundering Herd, 76-62, in a Conference USA clash at FAU Arena.

Solomon Poole added 18 points for the Owls (8-8, 1-4 C-USA). C.J. Turman chipped in with 13 points and seven rebounds, and Kelvin Penn had 12 points and nine boards as FAU snapped a four-game losing streak.

As for the Thundering Herd (4-14, 0-5), Ryan Taylor scored 24 points and grabbed six rebounds. Aleksa Nikolic added 15 points and Jay Johnson chipped in with 10 points and six rebounds.

The Owls shot 42.9 percent from the field in the first half, but the Thundering Herd shot 50 percent from the floor to take a 34-30 lead into the intermission.

In the second half, Marshall shot 42.9 percent from the field and 0-for-6 from 3-point range. FAU shot 55.6 percent and hit 13-of-16 from the free-throw line to help give the home squad the lead.

Florida Atlantic outscored Marshall from 3-point distance, 24-6, and held a 14-10 advantage in scoring from the charity stripe in the win.
