Ypsilanti, MI (SportsNetwork.com) - Karrington Ward posted a double-double of 19 points and 11 rebounds to aid the Eastern Michigan Eagles in their 71-62 victory over the Youngstown State Penguins as part of the EMU Showcase at the EMU Convocation Center.

Raven Lee and Anali Okoloji each added 16 points for Eastern Michigan (3-0).

Bobby Hain paced Youngstown State (1-3) with 15 points. Jalon Plummer netted 13 points, Marcus Keene had 12 to go with eight assists and Shawn Amiker dropped in 10.

Both teams shot an even 40 percent from the floor in the first half, as they entered the break tied at 33-33.

In the second half, the Eagles limited the Penguins to 36.7 percent shooting, while outscoring them from the free-throw line, 12-2, to pull away for the win.

Eastern Michigan enjoyed a 47-26 advantage on the glass.
