Denver, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - The Colorado State Rams set a program record for consecutive victories to start a season as they held on for an 85-84 victory over the Denver Pioneers in a non-conference battle at Magness Arena.

Daniel Bejarano led the Rams (11-0) to their 11th win in as many games with 25 points and eight rebounds, while Tiel Daniels netted 20 points on 7-of-8 shooting from the floor in 24 minutes. J.J. Avila nearly recorded a double- double with 10 points and nine assists for CSU, which had not won 11 games in a row overall since the 1988-89 campaign.

Brett Olson paced Denver (5-6) with 20 points in 36 minutes before fouling out. Marcus Byrd and Jalen Love scored 18 points each, while Nate Engesser contributed 16 points.

The Pioneers were on track to spoil CSU's perfect record as they led by as many as seven points before going into the intermission on top, 37-34. The Rams were outscored, 27-9, from beyond the arc in the first period.

CSU was unstoppable after the break, as it converted 75 percent of its shots from the floor and 11-of-14 tries at the charity stripe. Despite making good on 60.7 percent of its field goal tries and sinking eight more attempts from behind the 3-point line in the second period, Denver was unable to maintain its lead. The Pioneers trailed by six points with three seconds remaining in regulation before Byrd made it a one-point game with five quick points.

CSU outscored the Pioneers, 42-24, in the paint and achieved a 31-21 advantage in total rebounds.
