Recap: Dayton vs. Eastern Mich
Dayton, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - Kendall Pollard came off the bench to score 16 points and grab nine rebounds to lead his Dayton Flyers past the Eastern Michigan Eagles, 73-64, in a non-conference clash at Dayton Arena.
Jordan Sibert scored 15 points with seven rebounds, and Dyshawn Pierre also chipped in with 15 points for Dayton (6-1), which has won four games in a row. Scoochie Smith contributed 10 points with eight boards and five assists in the win.
Raven Lee led all scorers in the contest with 26 points to pace Eastern Michigan (7-1), which lost its first game of the season. Karrington Ward chipped in with 11 points, and Mike Talley added 10 with seven rebounds.
Dayton shot just 36.4 percent from the floor in the first half, but was still able to take a 28-26 lead into the midway break after EMU shot just 32.1 percent, including a 1-of-12 mark from 3-point range.
The Flyers increased their shooting accuracy to 54.2 percent from the floor in the second frame, and made 17-of-28 from the free-throw line. The Eagles connected on 41.9 percent of their shots in the period, but continued to fall behind the home Flyers.
Dayton held a 42-30 edge in rebounding, and outscored Eastern Michigan from the free-throw line, 26-13.
