Cornell Big Red VS. Drexel Dragons

Recap: Cornell vs. Drexel

Charleston, SC (SportsNetwork.com) - A late 7-0 run by Drexel was just what the team needed as the Dragons slipped by Cornell, 61-59, in the seventh-place game of the Charleston Classic at TD Arena.

Damion Lee tallied a game-high 28 points and pulled down seven rebounds for the Dragons (1-4) as they picked up their first victory of the campaign. Rodney Williams came up a point shy of a double-double as he cleared 14 boards for Drexel.

The Big Red (2-4) were paced by Shonn Miller with his 13 points and nine rebounds, followed by Devin Cherry and Galal Cancer with 11 points apiece and Robert Hatter 10 in the losing cause.

Lee was held to just four points in the first half, connecting on 1-of-8 from the floor, so it only made sense that the Dragons would fall behind by a 26-17 margin at intermission. As a unit, Drexel was 6-of-33 from the field overall, including 0-of-9 behind the 3-point line.

In the second half the Dragons turned the corner as Lee connected on 8-of-16 from the floor, en route to 24 points in 19 minutes of action, which was good enough to buoy his team and get them over the hump in the two-point decision.

Cornell, which was limited to only three offensive rebounds, was beaten on the glass by a 44-35 margin.
