Hartford, CT (SportsNetwork.com) - Ryan Boatright knocked down a game-high 28 points as the Connecticut Huskies bested the South Florida Bulls, 66-53, in an American Athletic Conference clash at the XL Center.

Boatright shot 7-of-10 from the field and 10-of-11 at the free-throw line for the Huskies (11-7, 4-2 AAC), who have won back-to-back games. Rodney Purvis notched 17 points. Daniel Hamilton grabbed 10 rebounds while Amida Brimah blocked five shots.

Nehemias Morillo netted 18 points for the Bulls (7-13, 1-6), who have lost their last five games. Corey Allen Jr. followed with 11 points.

The Huskies looked like the stronger team in the first half, shooting 42.9 percent from the field, while holding the opposition to a 37.5 percent mark. They led 30-20 at halftime.

Both sides improved from the floor in the second half, with the hosts shooting an even 50 percent and the Bulls shooting 41.9 percent. The Huskies helped their cause greatly at the line, where they knocked down 13-of-15, and pulled ahead by as many as 13 points late in the contest.

At the end of the day, Connecticut's 22-of-29 mark at the charity stripe gave the team a major boost and helped secure the victory. The Huskies also owned the advantage over the Bulls on the glass, 35-18, in the win.
