Honolulu, HI (SportsNetwork.com) - Askia Booker tied a career-high with 27 points and added six assists and six rebounds to lead the Colorado Buffaloes to an 82-68 win over the DePaul Blue Demons in the first round of the Diamond Head Classic.

The Buffaloes (7-3) will take on George Washington in the semifinals Tuesday.

Colorado went 31-of-38 from the free throw line in a dominant performance at the stripe. Booker made all 14 of his attempts and Xavier Johnson hit 6-of-6 on his way to a 20-point game with seven boards.

DePaul (6-5) was led by Tommy Hamilton's 16 points and 12 rebounds. The Blue Demons also had success at the line, going 20-of-22 including 11 makes from Billy Garrett.

The Blue Demons will play Ohio in the consolation bracket on Tuesday.

Colorado's lead was just 36-33 at the break, but a 9-0 run early in the second half extended its edge to double digits, where it would remain. Johnson capped the spurt with two free throws to give the Buffaloes a 50-37 advantage.

The Buffaloes would lead by as much as 18 with 4:16 left, but they made only one shot from the floor the rest of the way.

Colorado shot 53.8 percent in the second half and never trailed by more than two.

The Buffaloes also forced 18 turnovers and controlled points in the paint by a 34-18 margin.
