Maui, HI (SportsNetwork.com) - Michael Young racked up 27 points and 15 rebounds in leading the Pittsburgh Panthers to an 81-68 victory over the Chaminade Silverswords in the EA Sports Maui Invitational at the Lahaina Civic Center.

James Robinson scored 17 points and Derrick Randall contributed 11 points and 21 rebounds for Pittsburgh (3-1). Josh Newkirk chipped in 10 points and eight assists.

Five players scored in double figures for Chaminade (2-2), led by 12 points apiece from Kevin Hu and Kuany Kuany. Lee Bailey and Frankie Eteuati each tacked on 11 points and Michael Louder had 10.

Pittsburgh worked its way to a 42-31 lead at halftime, despite allowing the Silverswords to shoot 45.5 percent from the floor. The Panthers only shot 42.5 percent from the field, but they secured 19 offensive rebounds to give themselves plenty of extra chances. In fact, they scored 12 second chance points in the period.

The Panthers held off the Silverswords in the second half by shooting an improved 52.2 percent from the floor.

The Panthers outscored Chaminade, 30-20, in the paint and by a 22-7 margin off of turnovers.
