Cleveland, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - Chris Fowler scored 26 points as the Central Michigan Chippewas dismissed the Toledo Rockets, 75-66, in the semifinals of the Mid-American Conference Tournament at Quicken Loans Arena.

Also scoring in double figures for the top-seeded Chippewas (23-7) were John Simons and Braylon Rayson with 23 and 14 points, respectively. CMU will now take on Buffalo in the championship game on Saturday, with a trip to the NCAA Tournament being the reward.

Fourth-seeded Toledo (20-13) was led by Justin Drummond and J.D. Weatherspoon with 17 points each. Julius Brown accounted for 13 points, although he shot only 5-of-17 from the floor.

The Chippewas shot 44.8 percent from the floor in the opening stanza en route to a 33-26 halftime lead. Toledo was outscored, 15-3, from 3-point range in the first half.

CMU extended its lead after the break by sinking 13-of-16 tries at the charity stripe and hitting on 10-of-19 shots from inside the arc. Simons converted 9- of-9 at the free-throw line to register 15 second-half points. Weatherspoon and Brown netted 11 points apiece over the final 20 minutes of play for the Rockets.

Despite the loss, Toledo finished with a 38-27 advantage in total rebounds.
