Orlando, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Nic Moore finished with 21 points as the SMU Mustangs dispatched the UCF Knights, 70-61, in an American Athletic Conference tilt at CFE Arena.

Ben Moore and Markus Kennedy netted nine points each for SMU (12-4, 3-1 AAC), which also received eight points and eight boards courtesy of Yanick Moreira.

B.J. Taylor, Adonys Henriquez and Brandon Goodwin scored 11 points each for the Knights (8-7, 1-3).

The Mustangs took a 30-26 lead into the intermission after they shot 52 percent from the floor in the opening 20 minutes of the contest. UCF was limited to 35.7 percent efficiency from the field, including a 2-of-12 clip from beyond the arc in the first half.

The Knights improved to sink 36.7 percent of their field goal tries after the break. However, SMU stayed in front as it made good on 62.5 percent of its shots from the floor and converted 7-of-12 tries at the charity stripe in the second period.

The Mustangs enjoyed a 35-27 advantage in total rebounds despite grabbing 11 offensive boards compared to 14 by UCF.
